tent rentals in connecticut - the basics

The first thing that makes hiking more than just exercise is the fact that hiking takes place in nature. For those interested in an exciting outdoor adventure in the cooler weather, winter camping may be the choice for you.

If there is an accident or mishap along the way, there will be more people to assist if you are camping or hiking with a group. The most essential equipment that are to be taken while planning a rock climbing trip are ropes, helmets, shoes, chalk, chalk bag, harness, belay devices, and karabiners. Changes in weather challenge your mental ability to plan in advance, improve, problem solve, and navigate, while physically challenging your physical conditioning and climbing skills.

You will need to start out with food and water, however if you are stuck in the wilds for very long, you will need to know how to catch and eat animals for food or how to find food naturally in your area. To start, you can get by with basic hiking equipment such as rations, tents and sleeping bags. Dressing warmly is obviously a major issue.

When you do meet other climbers, it is like being in a social club, one that non-climbers can t begin to understand. Some things to consider, as you are trying to decide the best type of climbing for you, are if you enjoy hiking or climbing more, your preferred type of weather to be active in, and how much work you want to put into the sport. If you plan to be deep in the wilderness, get some decent clothing for that purpose.

All in all, try to ensure you are well prepared, avoid solo trips the first time, check all your equipment before you leave and get some first aid training. Campfire cooking will bring everyone together for an enjoyable evening of storytelling and great food.
