lake tahoe hiking and climbing

There is something very powerful about nature and being in nature. Mountaineering has one goal which is to reach the next summit, or the top.

Spiked soles that clamp to the soles of your boots, called crampons are required for keeping traction on the ice. Although hiking on your own can seem like an exiting adventure, it is a lot safer to go hiking in a group. A tent offers you protection above your head but you will still need something soft between you and the cold hard ground.

Your first aid kit should contain essentials to tide you over in any case of any injury or illness, whether it is a cuts and bruises or stomach-aches and headaches. Be careful about not eating too much salty foods when doing heavy hiking in high heat or desert areas though, because you can become dehydrated more quickly. Prepare the fire with tiers of kindling and a few pieces of larger wood.

Just don t assume skills in one niche translate to the other. Camping is the perfect opportunity to do some star gazing.
